영화는 1970년대 이탈리아를 배경으로 좌파 대학생 미켈레를 따라간다. 난니 모레티의 분신인 미켈레를 중심으로 친구들, 가족들과의 대화를 통해 당시 청년들의 일상적 고민을 유머러스하게 포착하였다. 니체의 『이 사람을 보라(Ecce Homo)』를 장난스럽게 바꾼 제목. 1978년 칸영화제 경쟁부문 상영작. 2024년 베니스영화제 베니스클래식 최우수복원상 수상.

Il film racconta le giornate di Michele, studente universitario, i suoi rapporti con i genitori e la sorella Valentina, quelli con le ragazze e la sua vita di gruppo. Vediamo lui e i suoi amici discutere del più e del meno ai tavoli di un bar o parlare dai microfoni di una radio privata. Assistiamo alle discussioni suscitate nella famiglia di Michele dalla decisione di Valentina di partecipare all’occupazione di una scuola, alla bizzarra corte che Michele fa alla ragazza di un suo amico.

The film follows Michele, a university student, and his relationship with his parents and sister Valentina, with women and with his social circle. We see him and his friends chatting at bar tables or speaking from the microphones of a private radio; we witness the discussions sparked in the family by Valentina’s decision to join the occupation of her school, Michele’s bizarre courtship of a friend’s girlfriend.

*The restoration of Ecce Bombo (Nanni Moretti, 1978) was carried out in 2024 by the CSC-Cineteca Nazionale starting from the scene and soundtrack negatives made available by Sacher Film. The work was supervised by Nanni Moretti. The film won the prize for best restoration at the 2024 Venice Film Festival. The copy is made available by the CSC-Cineteca Nazionale.
